Warranty policy for used car engines by "Montonik", MB

Non-Refundable Deposits:
Deposits made to Montonik MB are non-refundable unless otherwise specified.

Return and Exchange Conditions:
Return or exchange must be authorized by Montonik. The part must be received in the same condition as it was originally shipped. No refunds will be issued if the part is not received in the same condition. Refunds are authorized only if a replacement is unavailable. Unauthorized disassembly or modification of the engine without written permission from Montonik MB will vid the warranty. The warranty is not valid if our sold goods are intended for use in motorsport.

Returns:
Customers wishing to return a product must adhere to the following conditions:

  • • The product must be returned in secure, intact packaging to prevent damage during transport. Photos of the packaged engine must be sent and then transport will be ordered to collect the engine. The engine must be secured fastened to the pallet with straps (metal wires are not suitable for use).
  • • The product must be in the same condition and configuration as it was delivered (undamaged, all equipment’s and screws not changed or removed).
  • • The customer is responsible for ensuring proper and secure packaging of the returned item. If the product is damaged during transportation due to incorrect packaging, the customer is responsible for the losses incurred. Returns that do not comply with these conditions will be refused.

Engine Inspection and Testing:
Our engines undergo run testing, visual inspection, cylinders testing with endoscope and cleaning before shipment. Engines are marked with overheating tablets on engine head what indicates proof (TABLET MELTS) when engines are overheated because of customer false.

3-Month Warranty:
The guaranty provides a 3 month guaranty for used engines to companies and private persons engaged, provided that installation is executed in accordance
with the manufacturer’s recommendations and in certificated workshop. Our warranty is for the engine head, block and bottom, the warranty for the equipment’s is valid at the time of start-up and run test. Warranty does not apply engine chains and/or belts. Warranty covers the engine against defects, including knocking, excessive oil consumption, and cracks in the block, subject to specified terms and conditions.

Void Warranty Conditions:
The warranty will be void under the following conditions:

  • • It is strictly forbidden to dismount the parts from the engine. Permission from Montonik MB is required, otherwise you will lose your warranty.
  • • Improper engine installation (refer to the Pre-Installation Checklist).
  • • Racing use of the engine.
  • • Custom installation parts carry no warranty.
  • • Vehicles modified beyond the manufacturer’s specifications.
  • • Engine usage without proper lubrication or cooling.
  • • Engine not installed within 14 business days after delivery.

Warranty Claim Process:

  • • Montonik, warranty covers only one claim per product.
  • • Our warranty claim representative will assist you throughout the process.
  • • Applicable fees may be charged for processing warranty claims.
  •  

Documentation and Claims:

  • • It is mandatory to submit the mounting invoice, proving that the engine was installed in a certified service.
  • • Submit warranty claims to Montonik, warranty technician, before any work is performed.
  • • Provide required documentation within 5 business days to avoid claim denial.
  • • Discontinue vehicle use once an issue is identified, or the warranty will be void.

Used Engine Definition:
A used engine includes the basic block, cylinder head, and internal components, along with attached accessories for convenience.

Engine Definitions – Complete vs. Bare

Complete Engine:
A complete engine includes the engine block, cylinder head(s), and internal components. It may also come with attached accessories such as intake/exhaust manifolds, injectors, turbocharger, alternator, starter, wiring, sensors, and other parts. These accessories are included for convenience only and are not covered under warranty.

Bare Engine:
A bare engine includes only the engine block, cylinder head(s), and internal mechanical components (e.g., crankshaft, pistons, camshafts, valves). No accessories or external components are included.

Labor Costs:
Montonik, is not responsible for any labor costs incurred by the customer unless a prior agreement is made.

Warranty Limitations:

  • • Montonik, warranty applies only to used engines.
  • • Warranty does not cover accidents, misuse, competition racing, or modifications not conforming to original specifications.
  • • Damages due to overheating, lack of lubrication, or missing/melted heat tabs are not covered.
  •  

Limited Liability:
Montonik, liability is limited to supplying a replacement engine or refunding the purchase price. No liability is assumed for labor costs, car rental, towing charges, lost profits, or other consequential damages.

Used Engine Installation Procedure Requirements:

  • • Perform necessary inspections, accessory changes, and routine maintenance before installation.
  • • Parts left on the engine block for convenience are not covered under warranty.

Pre-Installation Checklist:
Ensure the following checks are completed to avoid voiding the warranty:

1. Identify and repair the cause of the original engine failure.
2. Check compatibility of the replacement engine.
3. Clear all computer diagnostic codes before installation.
4. Inspect and replace necessary gaskets and seals.
5. Install a new thermostat and gasket.
6. Exchange necessary accessory items for a proper fit.
7. Follow manufacturer recommendations for disabling fuel/ignition before starting the engine.
8. Replace oil, oil filter, air filter, fuel filter, and coolant after installation.
9. Drain excess oil and coolant from the exhaust system.
10. Follow regular oil/fluid and filter changes every 5000 km.
